Serena and local campaigners launching the fight to save local post offices

THE FIGHT IS ON TO SAVE TOWNS' LOCAL POST OFFICES - LIB DEMS

Responding to the announcement of which local post offices could be closed, local Lib Dem Parliamentary Spokesman, Serena Tierney says: "While it is good news that the government is not proposing to close our village post offices we cannot afford to lose our local post offices in the towns. We have to step up our fight to keep these crucial local services."

PRH CAMPAIGNERS TAKE THE MESSAGE TO GORDON BROWN

Local campaigners for the A&E and maternity services at the PRH took their fight to Downing Street on Wednesday as Gordon Brown took over as Prime Minister. They joined campaigners from other Sussex and Surrey hospitals outside the gates so that the new Prime Minister passed them on his way to and from Buckingham Palace.

Relief on way for Mid Sussex commuters - Tierney

Following questions raised by Serena Tierney, Lib Dem parliamentary spokesman for Mid Sussex, the transport minister has today confirmed that the new Gatwick Express service to Brighton will also serve Haywards Heath with some services stopping at Burgess Hill, Wivelsfield and Hassocks.
