Join us at the Put it to the People March on 23rd March

As Theresa May keeps kicking the can down the road and the final say on Brexit still has not been secured, we have to march again. The new People's Vote March, aptly named the "Put It To The People March", is probably our last chance to make it loud and clear that we will not be inflicted an undemocratic, lie and dark money obtained, economy damaging, influence reducing, NHS and job destroying... Brexit. We had over 700,000 people on the street last October. This time, let's make it over one million!

Mid Sussex Voter ID Trial tries to fix a problem that doesn’t exist

For the first time ever, Mid Sussex residents will have to produce their polling cards or a verifiable ID at polling stations to cast their vote. Mid Sussex has volunteered to take part in a pilot scheme which, if successful, could see this scheme rolled out across mainland UK. The move follows a Conservative government report which claims such moves are necessary to prevent voter ID fraud.

Lib Dems Demand Action on East Grinstead Air Quality

The A22 London Road in East Grinstead has the highest NO2 concentration values across the Mid Sussex District, as stated by the District Council's own Air Quality Annual Status Report. A report issued by engineering consultants Atkins in 2012 stated that the London Road in East Grinstead suffers from poor air quality, and recommended that mitigation measures are implemented with high priority. To date, no measures have been implemented by the District Council to either ease traffic congestion or to improve air quality.

West Sussex Lib Dems respond to Tories’ plan to slash housing support funding

Dr James Walsh, Liberal Democrat Opposition Leader at West Sussex County Council has slammed the emerging proposals to end grants for Supported Housing and to slash LAN grants for Households in Crisis from £800k to £200k from next April. He said "Charities such as Stonepillow in the wider Chichester area, and Worthing Churches Homeless Project will be drastically affected, and mean that many people currently being helped will lose that support, and end up homeless or sleeping rough.

People's Vote Action Day in East Grinstead

83% of East Grinstead Residents Support a Peoples Vote

East Grinstead residents participated in voting for and against a People's Vote on the final Brexit deal (or absence of a deal) at the High Street on Saturday 18th August. The final tally was 83% in favour of a People's Vote, which is a massive endorsement of the campaign by the European Movement, Open Britain and the Liberal Democrats.
