Richard Cherry

Richard has lived in Burgess Hill with his family for over 40 years. An experienced local councillor, he has been County Councillor for Burgess Hill East for the past five years.

Richard is passionate about ensuring that young people get the best start in life. He has been a governor for both secondary and primary schools in our area, including as Chair of Governors at the Burgess Hill Academy. Richard is a trustee of the newly re-opened Park Centre, with its long tradition of providing leisure facilities for young people.

Finally, Richard knows that local residents’ number one concern is the condition of our roads. Together with his fellow Lib Dem County Councillors, Richard has continually fought for increased emphasis and spending on better road maintenance and repair.
