MP Alison Bennett's Christmas card competition display opens in local libraries
The overall winner was Isabelle, aged 6, from Burgess Hill Girls, with her colourful drawing of a snowman and Santa in front of a Christmas Tree. Jessica from Lindfield Primary Academy was the winner of the Junior Category, Olive from Oathall Community College was the winner of the Secondary Category, whilst the artwork done by Jack from Woodlands Meed College came fourth overall.
These designs, as well as those of the runners up for each age category and the highly commended entries, will be available to visit at local libraries over the next couple of weeks. Residents can take a look at the brilliant creations at both Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath libraries in the run-up to Christmas.
Reflecting on her inaugural Christmas card competition, Lib Dem MP for Mid Sussex, Alison Bennett, said:
“Reviewing the entries and choosing a winner has been a real highlight of the year, and I have been really impressed by the creativity and talent of students across Mid Sussex.
I am looking forward to seeing all of their hard work on display in local libraries over the next couple of weeks and would encourage everyone to go and visit the exhibit too.
Well done and a big thank you to all of the pupils and teachers that got involved, and to the library staff for helping to facilitate this. It has been a pleasure to look at all of your creations.”
Alison’s Christmas card competition display will be in Burgess Hill library from 12th November. Then, the students’ artwork will move to Haywards Heath, where they can be viewed from 26th November.
