Mid Sussex Liberal Democrats are pleased to announce that Lyn Williams has been selected as the candidate for the Hurstpierpoint by-election, following Alison Bennett's announcement that she will be stepping down as the District councillor.

Lyn has been a resident of Hurstpierpoint for nearly 20 years, moving from Burgess Hill which she represented on the District Council from 2003 to 2007.

She brings over 20 years of experience within local charities, including serving as Chair of Hurstpierpoint Society for 15 years.

Responding to Lyn's selection, Alison Bennett MP said:

“I am very pleased that Lyn Williams is standing for District Council, hoping to succeed me. Lyn has a wealth of experience as a former councillor and a record of being a strong local champion as Chair of the Hurstpierpoint Society. Her expertise, particularly when it comes to planning and finance, will make her a great asset to our village on the District Council.”

The Hurstpierpoint by-election is expected to take place on Thursday 7th May.
