Alison Bennett's Monday Mail: Short and Sweet
Greetings from Bournemouth
It’s going to be a short one this week. I am writing from the Liberal Democrats’ Autumn Conference in Bournemouth. After gales and rain on Saturday, Sunday morning has dawned, and it’s a beautiful day. Sunny, a gentle breeze, and a calm sea. So lovely in fact, that I am going to put my reservations aside and go for a pre breakfast swim in the sea with Surfers Against Sewage.
Hospice Motion
I am pleased to say that that motion of Hospice care that I mentioned in last week’s Monday Mail was passed on Saturday. This means that it now becomes Liberal Democrat policy. You can read more about it here.
Special Educational Needs Debate
Last Monday, I spoke up for parents in a debate about Special Educational Needs. I am fed up of parents being demonised for the crisis in SEND. It was only a 90 second speech as there were so many MPs from across the country wanting to contribute too. You can watch what I said here.
