Alison Bennett's Monday Mail: Holding my Breath

Holding my breath
Writing on Sunday morning, I am holding my breath watching the news from the Middle East. There are reports of desperately needed aid getting into Gaza. By the time you read this, I hope that the hostages will be being released. We must hope and pray that this ceasefire holds, as a first step towards a lasting peace in the Middle East with a two state solution.
My Christmas card competition - winners announced
After much needed laughter and delight, I am pleased to be able to share the winners and runners up in my children's Christmas card competition. Thank you to everyone who entered, and to the teachers and grown ups who helped the children submit their entries. Congratulations to Isabelle Jessica, Olive and Jack, and to all the runners up. My team and I loved looking at all the entries with local artist Kate Harries. Your efforts really brought some early Christmas cheer to my office.
Are you a Fundraiser? Come and work with me

I am delighted that the Hassocks Goes Gold wine tasting at the start of the month raised an incredible £4,296. This money will help raise awareness and fund research into childhood cancer.
But can you help push the total even higher?
A vintage bottle of Alexandra 2012 rose Laurent Perrier champagne worth €800 was kindly donated to raise funds for Hassocks Goes Gold. Raffle tickets cost just £5 each and the draw will be made at Hassocks Village Market on 20 December. Tickets can be bought in person from Proper Cafe, Hassocks, or by emailing amandajanefelix@outlook.com.
Do buy as many tickets as you can to help raise funds for Hassocks Goes Gold and have the chance to celebrate Christmas in style with family and friends.
