Stop the stitch up

The Labour Government are once again trying to deny voters their say.

They cancelled the County Council elections in May. Earlier this month they delayed the Sussex Mayoral election by two years.

Today they have announced that Conservative-run West Sussex County Council has the choice to suspend the County Council Elections again.

This looks like another anti-democratic stitch up between a failing Labour government and a failing Tory council.

It’s chaotic, undemocratic, and dangerous.

Every voter deserves to exercise their right to vote on time, not just when it suits those in power.

Join me in calling on West Sussex Conservatives to stop the stitch-up. Elections must go ahead.

Stop the stitch-up: no more election delays

We hereby call on Conservative-controlled West Sussex County Council to tell the government the county council elections must go ahead in May 2026.
